Matthew Broderick is a ‘Philanthropist’

Matthew Broderick returns to Broadway this spring in a Roundabout Theater Company revival of Christopher Hampton’s “The Philanthropist.”
David Grindley (”Journey’s End”) will helm.

Broderick’s last couple of Rialto outings have been box office bonanzas. After originating one of the leads in megahit tuner “The Producers” in 2001 (and reprising the part in 2004), he toplined (with “Producers” co-star Nathan Lane) a 2005 revival of “The Odd Couple” that was a big seller despite lackluster reviews.
