Arrested Development - Season 3

Great going, Fox. You only cancelled one of the sharpest shows on TV. This is right up there with Freaks and Geeks, Action, Undeclared, Futurama — classic bad network mistakes (However, I never got Family Guy — that could’ve stayed cancelled). Our friends at Monster and Critics review the latest, and sob final, season of Arrested Development, fresh on DVD…

Arrested Development was one of the funniest shows on television but I guess blockbuster ratings never appeared. 2004 saw it winning the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series and it has been nominated each year since. Like so many shows, awards and critical accolades don’t necessarily mean that the show is not going to get cancelled as Arrested Development has unfortunately been. It was truly one of the funniest and had a cast that knew how to play the comedic heartstrings of the viewer. I do suppose that Fox did try and give Season 3 the old college try, but I guess the ratings never appeared. However, they did do a nice job on the final set in the series and included some nice special features.

Arrested Development is presented in anamorphic widescreen (1.78:1) and is enhanced for 16×9 televisions. Special features include commentary tracks by creator Mitchell Hurwitz, actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter on “Forget Me Now”, “Mr. F”, and “Development Arrested.”
