Man jailed in DVD vending machine scheme
Let’s start the morning out right. No matter how dumb we all may feel, at least we’re not being fined 300K and going to jail over some dumbass DVD vending machine scam. Let’s all sigh with relief…
A federal judge sentenced a South Florida man Thursday to prison in connection with a fraudulent scheme to sell DVD vending machines.
District Court Judge Jose E. Martinez sentenced Thomas R. Kling to two years and nine months in prison and ordered him to pay $ 296,700 in restitution to the victims.
Kling was a sales representative at American Entertainment Distributors, Inc. (”AED”), a Hollywood-based company that fraudulently sold more than $19 million of DVD vending machines to consumers across the United States in 2003-2004.
