Snake-Eyes To Stay Silent For ‘G.I. Joe’ Movie
July 29, 2008
From MTV:
He’s one of fandom’s most celebrated characters, an honor-bound warrior upholding the virtues of an earlier time. And for a moment, he nearly sold his principals down the river simply to get a movie deal.
But thankfully Snake-Eyes, the black-clad, silent warrior of “G.I. Joe” averted a scandal that may have rocked the Internet community to its knees. And all thanks to one very protective father.
“We actually had Snake-Eyes utter one sentence at the very end of the movie,” revealed Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the producer behind the upcoming mega-budget “G.I. Joe” adaptation. “We thought [it] was very clever…Larry didn’t think it was clever at all.”
That Larry is, of course, comic writer Larry Hama. Having penned all 155 issues of the original Marvel run and numerous “Joe” series since, Hama was drafted by filmmakers to act as consultant to the project. And consult he did.
“The good news for us was we gave him the script and we held our breaths,” recalled di Bonaventura. “Because that was the moment where if he rejected the whole thing I’m not sure what we would have done. And what was great was he had really small notes, one or two very passionately held. And what Larry said was no matter what you guys think, you can’t have Snake-Eyes utter a word.”
Sienna Miller gets fake boobs for GI Joe
June 29, 2008
Actress Sienna Miller had to wear fake breasts for her role in forthcoming action movie “G.I. Joe,” because her own cleavage was not big enough for director Stephen Sommers.
Miller joins Dennis Quaid and Brendan Fraser to play femme fatale The Baroness in the upcoming movie, which is based on the popular toys and TV series.
But Miller admits she was left slightly stunned when Sommers told her that her small chest had to be given an extra boost so she would look more curvaceous on screen.
She says, “(I wear a) tight black leather outfit. And much bigger boobs.
“They gave me these things that looked like chicken fillets. The director said, ‘I’m gonna be honest, I like girls with big boobs,’ and I don’t have them so we made them bigger.
“At least he’s honest. But I was mildly offended.”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt hates G.I. Joe
April 3, 2008
It’s been suspected, it’s been rumored, and it’s been wisely deduced. Now, it’s official: Joseph Gordon-Levitt admits that he’s playing Cobra Commander in the “G.I. Joe” movie.
“I’ve got a good mask,” he grinned recently, confirming that he’ll play the man who challenges Destro for top dog status in the C.O.B.R.A. organization.
Various sources have revealed that Gordon-Levitt’s mysterious character begins as a close friend of Duke (Channing Tatum), and might even be a former Joe himself; “USA Today” reported recently that the actor is playing “multiple roles.” But this much is certain: By the end of the flick, he’ll be the same blue-clad baddie we all remember.
“Working on the set, it feels like being eight years old and playing with your imagination and action figures,” said the 27-year-old star. “Except they’re [human] tall, instead of [toy] tall.”

Details on G.I Joe
March 25, 2008
Paramount has released two photos of the fan-favorite character Snake Eyes, played by Ray Park, of Darth Maul “Star Wars” fame. Snake Eyes holds an impressive title according to “G.I. Joe” director Stephen Sommers. “He’s the world’s greatest ninja, but he’s also next-generation. He’s not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he’s pulling out his Glock,” Sommers told USA Today. “His chief nemesis is arguably the world’s other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies.”

“We all really loved what G.I. Joe was about in the ’80s; we loved that story arc and the concept of Joe vs. Cobra,” said Goldner, explaining that the people who created those characters will return, even if some of their creations won’t. Comics writer Larry Hama, Goldner confirmed, “is onboard, and he’s working with us on the script.”
