Miley Cyrus has finally confirmed her long-rumored relationship with fellow Disney star Nick Jonas in an extensive interview in the forthcoming September issue of Seventeen magazine.
While neither had previously confirmed the relationship, it has long been the subject of media speculation — Cyrus said in the interview that “it was really hard to keep it from people.”
“Nick and I loved each other,” Cyrus told the magazine. “We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun.”
(Nick and the brothers held a press conference on Wednesday talking about their new single, the lyrics of which address Nick’s diabetes.)
Miley admitted that things got dark for her after the two broke up at the end of 2007 — so dark that she even dyed her hair black to reflect how sad she was. “At first I bawled for a month straight,” she said. “I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black.
“When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights — and so I did that, and I got myself looking great,” she continued. “And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, ‘I want to make my hair black now — I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core.’ I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, ‘I’ve got to be by myself for now and just figure out who I really am.’ ”
The brothers were quick to come to Miley’s defense in the wake of her controversial Vanity Fair photos earlier this year.

The “Hannah Montana” sensation is embroiled in yet another photo scandal, with the latest photos showing the 15-year-old pulling up her shirt to reveal her stomach and white underpants. But that’s not all: The latest round of racy pics also features Cyrus showing-off her lil’ bod in an itsy-bitsy bikini.
Last week, Miley announced that she was ready to move on from her “Hannah Montana” persona, announcing she will not be signing up for a new season of the hit Disney show. She was certainly embracing her grown-up role as the host of Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards, donning a sparkly little dress and hanging out with her new BFF Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson on the blue carpet.
The two hugged and laughed like long lost friends, with Miley showing no sign of distress over the fresh set of pics circulating the Web. Hmmm, perhaps she is going accustomed to it all now.

No amount of photo scandals and catty videos seem to be hurting Miley Cyrus’ sales potential. The teen star will debut at No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts Wednesday morning with the strongest showing of her career. Billboard has her “Breakout” selling 371,000 copies, a tally that’s strong enough to give Miley the second-highest debut by a female artist in 2008.
Only Mariah Carey fared better, selling 463,000 copies in her debut week. To put Miley’s total in perspective, her “Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus” opened at No. 1 last year with 326,000 copies, but that album was directly tied into her Disney Channel series and tour, whereas “Breakout” is a standalone Miley affair.
While the tween market is certainly one not to be taken lightly, Cyrus fared better than much-hyped 2008 releases from Madonna and Janet Jackson, respectively. Madonna’s “Hard Candy” sold 280,000 copies when it debuted earlier this year, and Janet came in with 181,000 copies back in March.

Miley Cyrus may be getting ready to say goodbye to Hannah Montana. Or at least she’s thinking about it.
The 15-year-old superstar feels the time may be right for her hit Disney Channel series to come to an end.
“We’re thinking this is our last season,” Cyrus tells me.
Mickey Mouse execs announced in April that Hannah Montana had been renewed for a third season.
But Cyrus explained in an interview Monday morning that she’s been working on the show longer than most people realize. She was 11 when it all began. She turns 16 in November.
“I just think we did a lot of episodes,” she says. “We basically did two seasons in one last year. Usually people would do one season that would be, like, 16 episodes, and we did almost 30 episodes!”
Adds Cyrus, “It seems like it’s been on, like, longer.”

The Miley Cyrus photo controversy reared its ugly head once again – this time on Tuesday’s Today show, when Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, made his first TV comments about the negative reaction to the pictures in the June issue of Vanity Fair.
“I didn’t know they were going to strip her down and wrap her in a blanket,” Cyrus, appearing to promote his NBC show Nashville Star, told show anchor Meredith Vieira. Of the seemingly topless shot of his daughter, he said, “I was surprised when I saw it … but, hey, that’s life. Stuff happens.”
Of the complaints that surfaced once the photos became public, Cyrus said he never thought to complain. “I didn’t,” he told Vieira, ” ’cause my dad always said, ‘The more you stomp in poop, the more it stinks.’

Organizers for Provo’s annual Fourth of July “Stadium of Fire” celebration say it’s still quite a hot ticket.
Fans who want to see Miley Cyrus live are snapping up new tickets shortly after they are posted.
Event chairman Brad Pelo says in the past two weeks, he has opened about 300 seats and they all went quickly. He says as many as one thousand could be released before the big show.
Pelo says he and other organizers have been trying to find ways to free up seats. He says fans are watching closely to see when they are made available online.

Back to Tennessee isn’t just the title of Billy Ray Cyrus’ new album. It also describes the journey the upcoming Hannah Montana film took.
“When I read the initial script, it was all about me bringing Miley home to Tennessee, and we were going to go film it in Louisiana. To me, that was a red flag,” Billy Ray tells OK! at the CMA Music Festival. “I called a few different people, and I said, ‘Wait a second, I really feel that Tennessee is the right place to make a movie about coming back to Tennessee.’”
The singer’s efforts paid off. After scouting his hometown, the 46-year-old sent Disney big wigs photos he took himself of prime shooting locales, causing the studio to finally give in.
Any lasting doubts execs had about the location switch flew out the window when they arrived in to last week to check up on production.
“Disney came here last week, and they pulled me aside and said ‘thank you for bringing this film to Tennessee,’” Billy Ray says. “They said ‘we couldn’t have built this set whether we filmed it in Louisiana or whether we filmed it in Hollywood.’ Not only is it the best place for the film, but we’re saving money by coming to Tennessee.” - from OK

Teen “actress” Miley Cyrus escaped serious injury when the set of her new “Hannah Montana” movie collapsed.
The 15-year-old was filming scenes for “The Hannah Montana Movie” in Columbia, Tenn., when high winds blew a giant piece of lighting equipment into a Ferris wheel full of people.
Cyrus had just finished filming a scene when the incident occurred.
A number of extras sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, reports TMZ.com.
